Port Adelaide Football Club has announced a landmark sponsorship agreement with PwC.

The two organisations entered into a significant long-term sponsorship, announced at Adelaide Oval this morning. The agreement makes PwC one of Port Adelaide’s most significant sponsors, and ties the two organisations together for an extended period.

“Port Adelaide Football Club is proud to be sponsored by this significant global brand,” said Port Adelaide Chairman David Koch.

“It is a great endorsement for our club because PwC has historically only sponsored big global sporting brands and events such as the America’s Cup, PGA and Irish Rugby.

“But PwC has seen a strong alignment with Port Adelaide. Port Adelaide believes in the power of connection. We believe in innovation and best practice. And we have international reach but are dedicated to our community.

“PwC is a big deal. They are rated as one of the top 50 brands worldwide, part of a network of firms in 158 countries with more than 250,000 people, who deliver services to more than 5,000 clients.

“This sponsorship will assist Port Adelaide on field, but will also help improve our practices off field. In short, PwC’s sponsorship will help Port Adelaide better serve our 60,000 members, which is our core business.

PwC will be welcomed into the Port Adelaide community at the Before the Bounce event preceding its crucial home match against GWS GIANTS tomorrow night. Chairman David Koch will interview PwC Adelaide’s Managing Partner Jamie Briggs, providing further insight into the sponsorship arrangement between the organisations.

Since joining PwC in 2016, Mr Briggs has made a significant contribution to the growth of the firm’s Adelaide office. He has been Managing Partner since 1 July 2019.

“PwC works with businesses, Government and the community to help Australia continue to thrive and grow,” said Mr Briggs

“PwC and the Port Adelaide Football Club are philosophically aligned - both are innovative businesses, driving commercial activity in key growth markets, such as China.”

Mr Briggs was formerly Federal Minister for Cities and the Built Environment and the Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development.

He is extensively connected amongst the senior executive and Cabinets of both state and federal governments. Known for his deep political acumen, prior to entering Parliament Mr Briggs was a Senior Advisor to the then Prime Minister the Hon. John Howard from 2004-2007.

“Together, PwC and Port Adelaide Football Club can open doors and drive results to solve important problems and provide confidence to businesses and to the community. PwC calls this The Together Effect,” Mr Briggs said.

“South Australia is where the action is, in respect to growth opportunities in Australia. Together, PwC and Port Adelaide will attract more economic activity to South Australia through innovation, collaboration and excellence.

“PwC is proud to sponsor Port Adelaide, and thanks the entire team at the Club in concluding this important agreement.”
