portadelaidefc.com.au takes a look at who’s in the mix to play in the Power’s clash against Brisbane Lions at the Gabba this Saturday.

Port Adelaide

Injury will keep Charlie Dixon, Tom Jonas and Jack Hombsch out of the Power’s side again this week, and with Port’s disappointing loss to GWS at the weekend looming, opportunities may present themselves to in-form SANFL players.

In attack, changes could come in the form of small forward Jake Neade or speedster returnee Matt White.

Neade has recovered after falling ill at the weekend, while White made his return through the SANFL last week after months on the sidelines with a pec injury and is available for AFL selection.

Coaches may look to re-shuffle Port Adelaide’s young backline by adding some experience through the likes of Nathan Krakouer or Cam O’Shea.

Ruckman Matthew Lobbe is also in the mix for an AFL recall after a strong performance in his return game with Magpies before the SANFL bye – this could free up Jackson Trengove to help bolster the Power’s backline.

Brisbane Lions

Fresh off a 37-point win over the Bombers at the weekend and with no fresh injury setbacks, senior coach Justin Leppitsch could keep the side which chalked up the Lions’ second win of the season unchanged coming into Round 19.

However it’ll be difficult to ignore skilful midfielder Lewis Taylor, who is expected to make a return from an ankle injury this week and be available for selection against the Power.

Meanwhile Ryan Lester’s 25-disposal, two-goal haul in the NEAFL earned him a best-on-ground nod and could be enough for an AFL recall after playing 14 senior games with the Lions in 2016 so far.
